Four years ago, everything started with a simple question from my daughter: "Can you make a tres leches cake?" I had never heard of it before, but she had seen it on TikTok and wanted to try it. I gave it a shot. Then, one of her friends asked me to make one for her birthday—this time with Oreos on top. That was the moment everything changed. What started as a fun challenge turned into an obsession. I spent the next four years perfecting every detail, from the perfect balance of moisture to the texture of whipped cream, determined to make the best tres leches cake possible.


In January 2025, I made a bold move. I left my job as an Uber driver and opened Tres Leches Cafe. But before that, I tested my cakes with local Mexican restaurants, making sure they passed the ultimate taste test. It was through this journey that I also changed my name from Philip to Felipe, embracing the culture that had embraced me. Then, one day, fate stepped in—one of my Uber riders happened to be Latina and a pastry chef. With her insight and expertise, I refined my craft even further. Now, with the seal of approval from Mexican restaurants and the words “pasteles como tu abuelita” becoming a common compliment, we proudly offer what we believe are the best tres leches cakes around.
